"Star Trek" Nesting Dolls
Starting late in 2014, Chris and I started watching every episode of "Star Trek", starting with the Original Series and ending with Enterprise. Since there are almost 700 episodes, it took some time to get through them all. Because of this, I decided to make Original Series nesting dolls for Chris, for his birthday this year.
I had purchased wooden nesting doll blanks about 10 years ago, and never used them, so this was the perfect opportunity. I used acrylic paint and then put a few coats of varnish to seal everything. Since there were only 5 figures in this set, I had a hard time choosing which characters to paint, but ultimately settled on Captain Kirk, Mr. Spock, Dr. McCoy, Uhura and Mr. Scott.
These were so much fun to paint. They made me giggle the entire time I was making them. I do have plans to make some more, maybe from some of the other series.
